What Can I Do to Improve My Throwing Accuracy?
Nov 04, 2023Velocity is talked about a lot on the area that most players want to improve. Pitcher's and fielders could both benefit from improving their throwing command whether it is on the mound or throwing across the diamond.
There have been many drills and exercise's to improve throwing velocity to varying success. There have been less developed drills to work on throwing command. And there could be a very simple strategy to improve your command.
"There can be no wasted throws" - Adam Wainwright
As Adam Wainwright puts it, be intentful with every one of your throws. Even your "warm-up" throws. Each time you throw a ball, you should be trying to aim for the smallest thing you can see on your throwing partners shirt. Also, throwing on a wall is great for certain drills, however, you do not get good feedback throwing at something that is only 6 feet away. Most of your throws should be at least 60 feet away.
