Pitcher's Readiness: A Pitcher's Warm-Up
Oct 14, 2023A pitcher wants to make sure their body is fully prepared to step on the mound and throw their first pitch before a start. Pitching not only includes the arm but also the rest of the body.
When planning out a specific warm-up for an individual pitcher, there are 4 main groups of exercises that need to be touched on before the pitcher steps on the mound. Those 4 groups include:
- Individual Correctives
- Dynamic Warm-Up
- Arm Readiness
- Body Readiness
Within these groups, specific exercises may be different for a specific pitcher based on his individual needs, but every pitcher will need to touch on each group to be prepared to throw.
In this week's video, I discuss each group of exercises each pitcher should touch on to be fully prepared to throw on the mound. Doing this will help get you throwing at your highest level!
