Low Back Pain: Stabilization Correction
Oct 14, 2023Low back pain is a major cause for missed time from work and sports. Recent studies show that as many as 15% of athletes will miss playing time due to low back pain.
One of the categories of low back pain is the stabilization category. Some one that fits in this category needs to focus more on stabilization, timing, and sequencing of the core and mid section of the body. They fit in this category if they are positive in 3 our of 4 of the following test:
- <40 years old
- Straight leg raise >90 degrees
- A difficult toe touch pattern
- + Prone Instability Test (clinician performed)
If you fall in this category, you would most likely benefit from core stability exercises to help with your pain.
