Long toss is an integral part of building arm strength and arm speed. If done correctly, you can get big improvements on your throwing velocity as well. If done incorrectly, you may find yourself with a tired or painful arm at the wrong time and possibly even an baseball injury.

A few things to remember when you are planning your long toss and when you are long tossing are:

  1. Take days off from long toss. It is very stressful on the arm. You should only long toss 2-3x/week
  2. Make sure you are still picking a very small target to hit when you throw, such as a single letter on your partners chest. You can still develop accuracy while working on velocity.

In the video, I go into details on these points and how you should be using your lower body to get the most out of your long toss!
