I have had a lot of questions on the best way to develop an athlete to help them reach their highest performance. When I think about athlete development, I think of 3 main categories where I may want to develop the athlete:

  • Skill
  • Performance/Capacity
  • Movement

Within each of these categories, an athlete may be better at some area's and deficient in others. I want to make sure I am helping the athlete work on the area that they would most benefit from. In this blog, I discuss how I meet the athlete where they are in performance training and systematically, find the area of performance to work on to improve the athlete the quickest.
